Dan shot this image in India in the interim, the bag and a few of the things that were in it (laptop + case, CF cards, pens/pencils, passports, roll of film, etc.) were stolen. So the photo has acted as a reminder of what was in the bag at the time (and what wasn’t, and therefore safe: the cameras, iPad, and smartphones were NOT in the bag when it was taken), and much more of a marker of this point in time than he originally thought it would be.
